Gay’s Hill Country Holidays

holidayparty newsletter

[November 8, 2022 – Blog] It’s almost the holidays—my favorite time of the year to reconnect and recharge before the New Year hits. So, let’s closeout this year together!

Please join me Sunday, December 11, from 12-4 PM CST for my Hill Country Holiday Party at my private art studio and gallery in the Texas Hill Country. I’ll be serving my legendary eggnog, sweet and savory bites, along with tours of my latest collections of artwork and unique gifts to spread holiday cheer. Plus, our neighbors at the Wedding Oak Winery will be offering tastings of their award-winning 100% Texas-grown wines, and Yes Please! will be serving samples of their gourmet fudge, bark and nuts. Yum! Let us know you’re coming by following the link to RSVP.

It’s no secret the holidays are a busy season, so let me share a couple of tips that help me manage this sometimes frantic and often stressful time of year.

First, I have a rule at company parties and business soirees. If I go with colleagues or members of my team, it’s nice to visit with them as we arrive, but then it’s time to spread out and meet new people. You’ll see close acquaintances later—parties are for making new connections that may be insightful or valuable in the new year approaching. To stand out in the crowd, try to be memorable in some way. Share a funny story that ties into your profession or get decked out in a festive outfit that’s authentically you, but extra special.

I also pride myself in shopping (it’s a superpower) but planning ahead isn’t always my strong suit. To be prepared, I like to find a few unique gifts by my favorite artists or retailers and stock up. You never know when you’ll need an extra hostess gift or when you’ll run into a friend, client or colleague.

I hope to see you at my holiday party!
