[VIDEO] From fantastical fiction to nonfiction with larger-than-life true characters, nothing gets the creative juices flowing better than a good book. I was invited to share my favorite book in a video series for Amy Poehler’s Smart Girls, an organization she co-founded dedicated to helping young people cultivate their authentic selves.

In this short video, I shared a story I’ve cherished since I was a young woman and even inspired my daughter’s name. Filled with romance and mystery, Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, is a story of an orphaned lady’s maid swept off her feet by a dashing widower and his sudden proposal of marriage, only to find that she will live in the constant shadow of his late wife.
